Beware: cPanel phishing emails in circulation

At Surver, we use cPanel to manage WordPress hosting accounts. Over the last few days, we've received reports from some observant customers that there are emails circulating that appear to come from cPanel. These emails warn that your account's storage amount would be reached, or that you need to upgrade cPanel. To fix the 'problem', you need to click on a link in the email, after which you will be redirected to an externally hosted site. Here you will be asked to enter your login details.

We ask you not to respond to this mail and not to click on the link and leave login details. These are likely to be shared with malicious parties, who can thus gain access to your hosting account, website(s) or mail account(s). Please mark the mail as SPAM and delete it from your inbox.

Tip: also feel free to check the sender of the mail. If the mail was sent from a mail address other than @surver.co.uk or sxxxx.hostingsecure.com, then it is almost certainly SPAM. If in doubt, feel free to forward the mail to support@surver.nl. We'd love to help you out!
