We professionally and securely migrate your WordPress website or WooCommerce shop, and if desired, your email accounts and domains to our servers. You don't have to do anything technical for this yourself.

After placing your order, simply provide your login information and any moving codes. From then on, we'll take care of the entire move and keep you informed every step of the way.

Most transfers are completed within one business day, with no downtime for your visitors. Your website remains accessible during the switch.

How does our relocation service work?

With our professional transfer service, we ensure minimal downtime and a worry-free transfer of both your WordPress site, and your mailboxes and domains.

Relocation request

Once you have chosen a package you can easily order it through our website. During the ordering process you have the option to select the Transfer service select. Depending on the package selected, there may be costs associated with the migration.

After you place the order, you will receive an email from us with more information about the next steps and all the details we need to manage the migration of your website and optionally your mail accounts, DNS zones and domain name.

Collecting login information

To move all your data correctly and smoothly, we need both the login details of your WordPress installation and the server on which your site is running. If you have a customer account with your current provider, you may also forward those login details. Below is an overview of all the data we need:

If you choose to keep your domain and mail accounts with your current provider you can easily indicate this via the migration form. We will then only move your WordPress site.

Migration Preparation

After we have received all your (login) data, it is first checked by us. If any data is missing or incorrect, we will contact you. When all data is complete we will schedule the migration date, based on the preferred date you indicated.
One day before the migration date, we take over the current DNS records, adjust the TTL (DNS renewal time) and make a name server change. This has the advantage that we are in control of the DNS, we can move quickly and thus prevent or reduce any downtime.

If applicable, we will also set up your new mail accounts and any forwarders. You will receive the new login details by e-mail, as well as more information about setting up your mail in Outlook or Apple mail.

Migration server data

On the migration day itself, we will move your WordPress site(s) and mail accounts to the new server. Your site will be completely checked by our WordPress experts and any minor bugs or error messages will be fixed.

If you wish, we will also transfer your email accounts and folder structure during this step. Your current accounts are synchronized one-to-one with our server, so you won't miss any emails or folders.

As a final step, we install another SSL certificate so we can guarantee secure connections for your visitors. Your site is now live!

Moving domains

Should you have chosen to move your main domain or other alias domains to Surver as well, we'll take care of that in this step as well.
After we have requested the move we will set up any redirects within the hosting control panel. Should you also have active DNS records for these domains, these will also be taken over correctly by us.

Depending on the extension, it can take between 60 minutes and five days to move a domain. Once the alias domains are transferred to our server we set up another SSL certificate for a secure connection.

Verification & confirmation

Once all the previous steps have been completed, we do a final check to make sure your site is up and running properly, securely and quickly. Any leftover mail from your old provider will still be transferred. We also check that all DNS records are properly transferred and that your contact form works properly.

Once all checkpoints have been completed, you will receive a confirmation email from us. You can now check whether everything has been properly migrated by us. The last step is to cancel the transferred services with your old provider.

At Surver, we work with Let's Encrypt SSL certificates that can be activated for free within cPanel. Installing a certificate is very easy and through our manuals we will guide you step by step. Should you want team Surver to handle the migration, we will install the certificate for you.
We migrate your WordPress installation exactly as it is currently online. After the migration, we do not perform any updates or modify any code, unless you have explicitly requested it. However, we do set the correct PHP version and install LiteSpeed Cache so your site loads quickly and you can take full advantage of our platform.
If you use Roundcube as your current mail service, we can also export/import the contacts for you during the migration, if the server at the current party allows this. If you are using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace then the current setup will continue to work as you are used to, even after a migration to Surver.
If you haven't selected a specific date, we usually migrate your site within 2-3 business days. We'll keep you updated by email every step of the way and you'll receive a notification from us when the migration is complete.
Sites can be moved without downtime, provided we have access to the name servers and DNS records. Without access, we can only manage the DNS by moving the domain. In that case, it may take up to 24 hours for the domain to be pointed to our server, the SSL certificate installed and the site live.
Sites where the database is continuously updated, as the case of WooCommerce web shops, membership or community sites, we need to activate a maintenance mode when migrating so that we can guarantee that all data can be transferred correctly.
